A street art magazine meant to highlight Phoenix’s incredible street artists and their work.
Concept:
A grunge-filled aesthetic to pay homage to not only the breathtaking street art featured throughout, but also to the Latino artists responsible for breathing new life into Downtown Phoenix attracting visitors and creating new street art aficionados throughout the country.
The Project:
Each artist featured in the magazine is a Latino street artist based out of Phoenix. In their own unique way, each artist paints with the influence of their Chicano culture using both bright and dark colors to capture the true essence of the world around them. They incorporate additional methods such as acrylics and brush on canvas as they masterfully delve into their preferred techniques.
Concept cont.
I had the pleasure of interviewing each subject and was able to take my equipment out onto the street and capture each image needed for the zine. When speaking to
the artists themselves, I asked each to send me a picture of their tags and converted them into digital files to be featured on their spotlight piece.
Undeniably, the subjects of each master artist is their everyday life - this is what they turn into art. They each capture the true essence of the individual through candid moments of undeniable truth.
